Aleš Veselý has been announced as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Czech division of the Sazka Group, assuming the position of Robert Chvátal.
Operations in the Czech Republic
Veselý, who is currently the Marketing Director of the group, will assume responsibility for operations in the Czech Republic in his new position.
Modern entertainment company
Veselý, published by Czech media outlets, said: “Over the last eight years, we have managed to build a modern entertainment company from a traditional lottery company.
“Thanks to innovation and online transformation, we can offer a wide portfolio of games that appeals to three quarters of the adult population in the Czech Republic.
“My main goal is for Sazka not only to maintain the set trend but above all to further develop its long-term strategy of an entertainment company.”
Meanwhile, Chvátal will continue to manage Sazka Group, the umbrella organization, while also assuming the position of chairman of Sazka CZ.
“I am very pleased to continue to be a part of Czech Sazka’s strategic decisions as chairman of the board of directors,” Chvátal said. “At the same time, I am proud to be able to contribute to the growth of the Sazka Group in four other European countries.”
Fourth National Lottery License
The move comes from the news that Brent Hoberman CBE became the latest company figurehead to join the SAZKA Group’s ‘UK advisory board’ where he will be charged with providing support and advice to the bid team of Sir Keith Mills competing to win the Fourth National Lottery License.
Following his nomination, Hoberman claimed, in an opinion piece for City AM, that any plans by the government to ‘level up’ the UK would require substantial assistance from the National Lottery. If things are kept the same, however, he thinks the lottery will struggle in a post-Covid world to support the government’s agenda.
