32Red Poker To Cease Poker Vetical

The 32Red brand of the Kindred Group is to leave the poker vertical when next week’s Microgaming Poker Network exits, pointing players to its Unibet Poker sister network and getting the “warm welcome.”

As the update is released on-site and in touch with players, 32Red leaves the vertical, as opposed to following fellow skins’ direction in seeking a new home.

Grosvenor Poker has recently become the latest to announce a switch to Playtech’s iPoker Network, a move that at least half of the 16 MPN skins are thought to be making. The Olybet subsidiary of the Olympic Entertainment Group is not one even after its transition to the GGPoker Network was announced.

It was clarified in its update to players: “We regret to announce that 32Red Poker will be closing down on 19th May, when the Microgaming Poker Network closes.

“Please note that you will still be able to continue logging into your account, accessing banking and playing our casino games at 32Red.com after the 19th May.”

Before adding on the decommissioning on its jackpots: “The Bad Beat Jackpot has been decommissioned, and all five Fish Party Jackpots will be decommissioned on 18th May. Any unused contributions will be returned to players, and any excess funds will form the prize pools of free-rolls for all six Jackpots (held on 18th May).”

Closing its doors on Tuesday, May 19, the MPN cessation followed a thorough internal review of the product range and policy of the tech provider, marking the end of a network that has supported online poker players with a variety of gaming experiences for over 16 years.

At first detailing last year’s news John Coleman, CEO at Microgaming, said of the decision: “The network model no longer fits with our strategic vision for poker, and this is the right time to announce the closure as we focus on redistributing key resources and personnel across the business.

“While the network will be closing, this is not the end for poker at Microgaming, which is driven to create the most enjoyable entertainment experiences, leading the way with world-class gaming content.

“Ultimately, this move will help the business to achieve that vision as we follow a new strategic direction for the vertical, details of which will be revealed in due course.”
