IGT Extends Minnesota Lottery Scratchcard Contract Two Years

International Game Technology (IGT) has announced that its IGT Global Solutions Corporation subsidiary has entered into a two-year extension of its existing Minnesota Lottery scratchcard contract.

The London-based company used an official press release to announce that its subordinate has supplied a variety of ‘extremely successful instant games’ to the American lottery operator since 2010 and will now continue this partnership until at least June 2022.

IGT reported that for 18 years it has acted as the technology and draw-based lottery systems supplier of the Minnesota Lottery, with the current extension also encompassing the continued supply of ‘a comprehensive range of instant ticket services’ including image, analysis and analytical functions as well as manufacturing and printing duties.

Jay Gendron, Lottery Chief Operating Officer of IGT Global Solutions Corporation, used the press release to announce that his company ‘has taken a multi-faceted approach to providing profitable the Minnesota Lottery with successful instant tickets’ and earlier this year saw its full $500s and Power $10-branded games ranges becoming the ‘best-selling $5 and $10 games’ of the operator.

A statement from Gendron read: “We take pride in working hand-in-hand with the Minnesota Lottery to design entertaining games based on extensive research, game planning and strategic marketing. We look forward to delivering these player-centric services and innovative content over the next two years as we continue to help ensure the Minnesota Lottery’s success.”

For his part, Wes Harms, Operations Director for the Minnesota Lottery, revealed the ten-year alliance between his organisation and IGT Global Solutions Corporation before announcing that the company had helped take the entire $500 family of instant-win titles from an idea to a staple of our scratch game line-up.

Harms’ statement read: “Every time someone plays a Minnesota Lottery game, it generates funding to support Minnesota’s environment and state services so it is imperative that we deliver the fun games and play styles for which our players are looking. We are pleased that IGT Global Solutions Corporation will be continuing to help us provide the quality scratch games and licensed property games that our players want for the next two years.”
